Both the inner and outer oval plates are optimised for smooth shifting. For this reason, the back of the Oval plate has no trimmings, like other oval products on the market. Instead, they design smooth, angled surfaces to help the chain slide quickly and accurately between the chainrings. The outer oval plates have 6 ramps for easy and fast gear changes, even under load. Each outer plate also has 12 down shift points. Instead of steel shifting pins, we use a CNC-machined "ramp and gap" solution. Special raised ramps work in conjunction with the tooth pockets to stabilize the chain when changing position. Oval plates do NOT require any modification to the front derailleur (standard) to function properly.
