AGU

In the early years, AGU traded mainly in bike parts and accessories. In 1974, they introduced lightweight bike bags. However, their great success and international breakthrough did not come until 1974, when AGU’s rain suit won a design competition set up by the Dutch Ministry od Traffic and Waterways. More than a million of these iconic rain suits were sold throughout Europe, resulting in an extraordinary breakthrough for the company.

in 1978, AGU launched their bike racing wear collection at the Tweewieler-RAI trade show. But the company had already taken their first steps in the bike racing world, since their sponsorship of world champion Cees Stamin 1977 had given AGU visibility at the top level of cycling. In 1984, joined forces with the legendary Panasonic team, led by Peter Post. Then in 1990, AGU incorporated Leontien van Moorsel in their team, a few days before she won two world championships in Tokyo. After a long and successful run as Rabobank sponsors, from 1996 to 2012, AGU left the pro peloton. And now, AGU return to the peloton, sponsoring the Jumbo-Visma team.

These 40 years of experience at the highest level of cycling are the foundations of AGU’s products today. Completely in line with the AGU tradition, the collection meets the needs of both road and mountain cyclists of all levels.
