The inner midsole system is coupled to an exoskeleton construction and another inner component made of moulded EVA. The external structure of lightweight polyurethane, a strong, solid and durable material, provides protection and support at key points of the foot to ensure a safer passage. The moulded EVA layer is made of a softer material for ideal cushioning and shock absorption, making the walk extremely comfortable.
- GORE-TEX Performance Comfort
Moderate level of insulation to keep feet dry and comfortable during outdoor activities in different weather conditions. With the main advantages: Moderate insulation for cool and variable temperatures, the second advantage is the optimal combination of breathability and insulation, for warm and dry feet even in unstable weather conditions. And the third advantage is the durable waterproofing.
- Vibram sole
Most of the AKU collection uses exclusive Vibram soles, both for the design and the specific shape of the sole, as well as the leather used in their making. The outsole is also designed for the specific needs and end use of the shoes. They have designed 3 different types of sole for mountain, trekking and active that have a particular abrasion-resistance.
- Anatomical Fit
An enveloping and anatomic fit for trekking footwear, designed to provide stability and allow dynamic movements when trekking in the mountains on uneven terrain.
- Elica Tech
An integrated system involving 3 different parts in the sole and midsole to accurately follow the shape of the foot's sole and fit to the normal heel and forefoot inclination to reduce impact and tension. Laboratory tests have proven that Elica footwear guarantees a more uniform pressure distribution across the foot compared to traditional footwear.
