Castelli was founded in the heart of Milan in 1876 by a fine tailor named Vittore Gianni. Over the years, Vittore Gianni dressed AC Milan, Juventus and the Milan ballet. The first garments for cycling were made for the three time World Champion and five time winner of the Giro, Alfredo Binda. Maurizio Castelli was born in 1948, and grew up following the careers of Fausto Coppi, a close friend of Maurizio's father and who at that time was the owner of Vittore Gianni's company. Coppi always wore Vittore Gianni's clothes, including the first silk suits designed specifically for Fausto to use in the time trials. Remember that famous photo of Coppi and Bartali sharing a bottle of water while climbing the Col d'Izoard? Yes, both are wearing Castelli jerseys. After a brief but promising career in the world of cycling, Maurizio created his homonymous brand in 1974 and with it a great number of innovations: the first Lycra for shorts used in racing and for sale to the public, the first coloured shorts, the first top printed by sublimation, the first synthetic clothing for winter, the first to use windproof membranes, the first to perform hydrophilic fabric treatments, the first anatomic seat pad, the lightest jersey to date, and the most aerodynamic jersey ever produced. Maurizio had the vision of being at the forefront of technology, performance and design. Today, Castelli are dedicated to continuing Maurizio's dream: to create the most innovative clothing for cyclists seeking maximum performance.

Castelli Alpha RoS 2 Light Rosso Corsa GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Jacket Black
Excellent fit
With the Alpha RoS jacket it is a pleasure riding in cold and windy weather. Excellent fit and nice details. Extra pocket for keys other small objects.

Castelli Raddoppia 2 GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Jacket Fluorescent Yellow
Top end winter cycling jacket
Lovely fit - super warm roubaix style fleece lined - with a water repellent smooth outer - nice cuffs and good size rear pockets with a small side pocket which is zipped for keys - worn it twice in 7-10 degrees and only need a Castelli winter Flanders base layer underneath and am very warm without being too warm - i initially bought the Alpha Ros 2 jacket which is dubbed the pinnacle of Castelli’s cycling stable of winter jackets - don’t bother - the fit on that was terrible / very tight in the shoulders and armpits and very short for a jacket too - whereas this is a lovely fitted fit all over and just more comfortable allround with more substantial materials used to make it - buy without hesitation

Castelli Raddoppia 2 GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Jacket Fluorescent Yellow
Seriously warm
Usual top quality from castelli.used it when the temperature was about 8 degrees c with short sleeve base layer and was too warm-probably ideal 5 c and below but I do run hot! I'm not a typical cyclist build-183 cm and 94 kg but usually find castelli xxxl a good fit in jackets and gilets.

Good for fall
This jacket is good for fall weather. You can even wear it with her jersey underneath for a little extra warmth if needed.

I'm 5' 7", 140 lbs and the Medium is tight on me. I hope the fit will be good on my first ride with it this fall.
