CeramicSpeed BB86 Cups for SRAM GXP Coated Road Black
This BB86 bottom bracket works with cranksets that have 24/22 mm thru-axle shafts, including Quarq and SRAM. The frictional resistance of standard CeramicSpeed bearings is typically 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That represents an average drag drop of 75% versus standard brackets. Hardened steel races feature ceramic balls that are 100% softer and 15% harder than ceramic competition. The bearings last at least 3 times longer than other bearings. Coated bearings further reduce resistance and increase service life. Coated races see a 50% reduction in resistance and a 60% improvement in bearing life. Grease tuning performance change. All Round Grease comes installed, but can be replaced with lower drag TT and tracking grease, or longer lasting LongLife grease, which adds a little drag but stays inside when driving in difficult conditions.
CeramicSpeed coated products offer the ultimate in performance and longevity gains. The patented coating features several attributes that enhance the longevity of CeramicSpeed bearings. The increased hardness of the strokes, combined with the smoothness of the ceramic speed balls, produces virtually no wear on the bearing. The coating is a metallic layer, which is 75% harder than hardened steel tracks. The coating is applied in a very thin and uniform layer of 3 microns (0.003 mm) over the entire surface of the bearing track. Both the interior and exterior are treated to achieve optimal results.
