Concept2 started in 1976 in the back of a bread truck when Dick and Pete Dreissigacker, fresh from Olympic training, began making composite racing oars. Since then, Concept2 oars have become the oars of choice among the world's rowers, and the innovations continue to this day. Every machine and oar they produce comes from a history of over forty-five years of excellence.
