In the development of its bike covers, Michelin uses two types of hoops, flexible hoops (TS) and rigid hoops (TR).
The traditional manufacture of bicycle covers uses rigid rings, usually made of steel.
This material is heavier than the ade aramid fibers used for the manufacture of flexible rings but it is much cheaper.
Little or nothing used in high performance covers, with the exception of DH covers (Down Hill or descent).
