MICHELIN Country RaceR has an optimised design in order to improve the performance on the skidding surfaces with low height lugs distributed throughout the tread (very good performance) and diamond-shaped lugs positioned at 45º in the rolling direction so there are more edges and therefore greater grip.

Michelin use two types of beads in the manufacture of their tyres, folding bead (TS) and wire bead (TR). Bicycle tyres are traditionally made with wire bead, usually steel. This material is heavier than the ade aramid fibres used for the manufacture of folding bead tyres but it is much cheaper. This is barely used in high performance tyres, with the exception of DH tyres (Down Hill or descent).
