Eider was born in the heart of the French Alps in 1962 when Georges Ducruet, a tailor passionate about skiing, saw the need to create a functional outerwear for winter sports. The name Eider refers to a duck from the northern coast of Europe that has the peculiarity that with its beautiful feathers it covers the nest in order to keep the eggs protected and hot.
The company Eider brings together the passion for mountain sports with the knowledge of textiles and the constant search for innovation in a unique and modern style. All Eider collections are conceived in the Annecy workshop, previously designed and drawn, and follow a complete control over the chain between research and development along with permanent communication with athletes, technical advisors, customers and suppliers.
Eider's mission is to offer all those lovers of outdoor sports (especially mountaineering, climbing, trekking and hiking) technical solutions for their most demanding needs with functional and versatile clothing .
