During exercise, our sweat helps to regulate body temperature. This fluid loss can harm performance and so athletes must compensate by drinking and replacing lost fluids. When we sweat, we lose key electrolytes like potassium and magnesium which are essential for performance. They must also be replaced to help stimulate liquid retention and the feeling of thirst. Performance in a prolonged period of exercise depends on the availability of muscle glycogen, which means it's important to consume carbohydrates during exercise to replenish fuel reserves. If you don't consume carbohydrates during prolonged or intense exercise, muscle glycogen reserves will run out after about 90 minutes of exertion. The amount of carbohydrates you must take on during exercise depends on the length and intensity of your training or competition.
Exercise <1h: you don't need to consume carbohydrates during exercise
Exercise 1-2h: 30 g carbohydrates for every hour of exercise (500 ml isotonic)
Exercise 2-3h: 60 g carbohydrates for every hour of exercise (1 L isotonic)
Exercise 2.5-3h: up to 90 g carbohydrates for every hour of exercise (up to 1.5 L isotonic)
Etixx Isotonic Powder contains maltodextrin and fructose. Research has shown that consuming various sources of carbohydrates can increase absorption of fuel into the body as they use different methods of crossing the intestinal wall. That means that during exercise this provides your body with more fuel in less time compared to just consuming one sugar. In the Etixx isotonic formula there's a 2:1 maltodextrin to fructose ratio. This has the following benefits:

Usage instructions:
- Dissolve 35 g of powder into 500 ml of water. Drink at least 500 ml for each hour of exertion. In warmer conditions and during intense exercise, we recommend drinking 750 ml to 1 L every hour.
