Fila is an Italian sportswear company founded in Biella, Italy in 1911, now based in Seoul, Korea. The brand’s creator, Giansevero Fila, began by manufacturing underwear for residents the Italian Alps. Today, the brand produces sportswear for men, women, children and athletes.
The brand’s most important product was originally underwear, until they started sponsoring the Swedish tennis player Björn Borg pushing them towards the design and creation of sportswear.
In January 2017, the global Fila brand was taken over by Fila Korea, which had always been an independent subsidiary, making it the largest sportswear company in Korea.
Fila acquired the American golf equipment manufacturer Acushnet in 2011, which included the brand Titleist.
