Bicycle derailleurs are the components or mechanisms that serve to change plates - or gears - while pedaling. This change is ordered through the handles that are installed on the handlebar of the bicycle. The deviators can also be known as forward changes.

The most important thing that cyclists consider about deviators is how to change them or assemble them for the first time. It is recommended that the diverter be placed between 1mm or 1.5mm above the teeth of the plate. It will also be important that they remain parallel to it.

Once the derailleur is tightened, adjust the screw L (Low) until it reaches 1mm from the inside plate of the chain. The next step is to place the cable, passing it through the guides of the diverter. With the cable in place, it is necessary to repeat what we have done with the screw marked with an L, but this time, the one that is named with an H. It will be necessary to turn the screw until it is 1 mm from the derailleur plate. It must be borne in mind that, if the teeth of the plate are not in good condition, there may be problems with the operation of the diverter.
