The Haglöfs Skuta Mid PROOF ECO boots welcome you to modern hiking. This is a tough, practical hiking shoe with a wide front fit for extra comfort. The upper protection and AHAR+ rubber on the outsole increases durability. It does not contain any fluorocarbons, not even in the PROOF ECO waterproofing. The mid-cut silhouette increases your stability and protection.

Haglöfs PROOF ECO and PROOF fabrics make up a range of carefully selected wind and water resistant materials that give you that little bit 'extra'; in terms of lower environmental impact and/or high stretch. PROOF ECO fabrics are durable, recycled and/or bluesign approved, as well as completely windproof, waterproof and breathable. To further protect you from the forces of nature, the face fabric has been treated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR to shed water and repel dirt. PROOF ECO fabrics offer balanced performance, reduced impact on the environment and good all-day wearer comfort.

- AHAR+
AharPlus is an outsole material with excellent abrasion resistance. This material is used in high friction areas of the shoe, reducing excessive wear.

- ASICS GEL System
Cushioning and stability. These two requirements are combined in the revolutionary ASICS GEL System. Shock and pressure forces are reduced, the foot is supported. The ASICS GEL cushioning system consists of several GEL components. They are made of fatigue resistant silicone material, which results in a high and constant inertia of the GEL components when subjected to pressure. The inertia of the material stabilizes the overturning movement at the first contact with the ground.

- Fluorocarbon-Free (PFC-Free) DWR
The durable water repellent action of Haglöfs PFC-free DWR treatments comes from a technology based on hydrocarbons, silicone and/or wax instead of fluorinated chemicals. Regardless of the 'active ingredient', all PFC-free DWR treatments used are completely free of all perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) (of course, including perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)), free of other halogenated substances and free of alkylphenoethoxylates, including nonylphenoethoxylates. Potential drawbacks are that the oil repellency and durability of non-PFC DWR treatments may be slightly lower than that of a PFC-containing option, and therefore the water repellency may need to be re-treated at an earlier point in time. In general, Haglöfs uses very good and environmentally friendly alternatives to DWR treatments containing PFCs.
