The Mavic XA Flex shoes designed for trail with platform pedals, combining high performance pedalling efficiency with maximum traction and comfort, both on the bike and while walking. Using platform pedals can help you manoeuvre your body and adjust your position on the bike on rough terrain. The XA Flex has been designed with an internal Carbitex plate that generates a rigid pedalling platform for efficiency and power, but with just enough flexibility in the front area to make the foot comfortable, especially when walking. It's important, because in trail cycling it's not all about pedalling. Random routes often require climbing steep hills, skirting slippery rocks or crossing streams with your bike on your back. The design of the XA Flex sole incorporates differentiated zones, with a soft heel and grips on the toe and heel areas to offer better traction when walking. The midsole is flat underneath to maximise pedal grip and incorporates an additional layer of anti-vibration material that increases absorption and minimises the impacts transmitted by the pedal. The shoes are made of a lightweight, scratch-resistant material capable of withstanding the harsh punishment of the trail. They incorporate a reinforced toe that protects your toes from rocks, roots and other obstacles in the terrain. The robust and lightweight instep protects from mud, dirt and water and is easy to clean.
