Michelin

Michelin (or Manufacture Française des Pneumatiques Michelin) focus their activity mainly on the production of tyres. Founded in 1889 in Clermont-Ferrand, France, they are the world's largest manufacturer, together with Bridgestone, in the development of bicycle tyres. The French company have involvment in various categories of motorsports, mainly in the Motorcycling World Championship and in Rally. Their company mascot is called Bibendum, a white character built out of many tyres. The bulky shape of this friendly character has led to the coloquial expression used to call a person with rolls of fat around their waist.
