Technologies:
- Allied
Allied down consistently measures above the hypoallergenic down standard, making it the cleanest, most allergen-free down available, but the best way to achieve the warmest, lightest, longest-lasting down is to clean it properly. All down is subjected to Allied's patented washing process which involves multiple washes in biodegradable, environmentally friendly detergent and recycled water. From the washing machine, the down is dried, cooled and completely dusted. It is then passed through a metal detector and shipped in bags and containers that prevent foreign elements such as dirt and oil from compromising quality. This thoroughness and objectivity ensures that all down used in Mountain Hardwear products not only meets but exceeds industry requirements.

- Responsible Down Standard (RDS)
RDS ensures that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to unnecessary damage. The RDS was developed and reviewed over three years, with input from animal welfare groups, industry experts, brands and retailers. They recognise and reward the best practices in animal welfare. It is an independent and voluntary global standard, which means that companies can choose to certify their products to RDS, even if there is no legislation requiring them to do so.

- Bluesign
The Bluesign system goes a step further than being an ecolabel. Due to the global focus on industrial standards, not only has the final consumer's safety been taken into account but also other aspects including workplace health, water emissions and air emissions. As well as these important aspects, the principle to conserve resources plays a greater role within the Bluesign certificate. The independent bluesign certificate guarantees that the entire chain of production only contains components and only uses processes that are respectful to people and to the environment.
