Ortlieb

The Ortlieb brand was founded by Hartmut Ortlieb in 1982 in the German city of Nuremberg.

The first products of Ortlieb were backpacks and saddlebags for machine-sewn bicycles. What started with simple means was soon to become a great success. Today, the company has more than 140 employees and offers an assortment of more than 500 products.

Ortlieb cycling accessories are characterized by hermetic closure systems such as flaps, waterproof zip fasteners, Velcro fasteners or rubber gaskets. Many of these features of equipment are patented, marking again and again the pattern in the market of bicycles and outdoor equipment.

In addition, the sustainable nature of the daily work process and production is of paramount importance for the brand. Since 2008, the company has been a member of the EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association) association. Through this organization, funds are raised and invested for projects to protect the climate and nature around the world.
