The Ortovox Col Becchei trousers are functional and sustainable: thanks to the use of selected materials and an athletic cut, ISPO award winners, they are ideal for demanding ski tours in alpine terrain. For the main material, proven Naturetec Light Merino has been used with soft Merino Wool on the inside and protective polyamide on the outside. Merino fibres are ideal even in demanding passages because they absorb moisture and transport it to the outside, yet their surface remains dry and comfortable against the skin at all times. The closed outer shell fabric makes these ski touring trousers extremely wind and water resistant. All materials are PFC-free, for the sake of your health and the environment.

They have an athletic cut, an ergonomic shape and provides excellent freedom of movement thanks to the use of stretch material. The adjustable waist and elasticated ankles of these ski touring trousers allow a perfect fit. Small items, such as a map, can be stored in the two hip pockets or the thigh pocket. Merino wool is woven directly together with Schoeller material to create the Ortovox Naturetec Light fabric. This combination of Merino Wool and durable polyamide is extremely robust and stretchy, making it ideal for high action sports. Merino wool on the skin ensures good wearing comfort and an ideal personal microclimate, while polyamide provides protection against wind and light precipitation.

The knobs open when the outside temperature rises and close again when the temperature drops. Inspired by nature, the c_change membrane works on the same principle. It reacts in exactly the same way to environmental conditions. Not only the temperature is taken into account, but also the air and body humidity.

Merino wool is one of the most appreciated fabrics for its quality and characteristics. Merino wool is obtained mainly from Merino sheep originating in New Zealand. This breed of sheep is found in many corners of the world, however the wool is recovered from the natural sheep of that country. The difference between these Merino sheep and those from the rest of the world is the skin, which is thicker to protect against extreme weather conditions. Due to the fineness of the fibre, Merino wool is much more pleasant on the skin. Sometimes the wide fibre diameter of regular wool irritates dead skin cells, while Merino Wool creates the opposite effect. Which is why Merino wool is much less irritating.
