As part of their product diversification program, in 2010 they launched a remote-control "toy" called AR.Drone drones . The AR.Drone is a wi-fi remote-control quadricopter. The device itself creates a network of its own to which the remote controls are connected. Initially applications were developed for the control of the AR.Drone through the Apple iPhone, iPad, Android and iPod devices. Over the years, Parrot have turned their specialisation to this type of devices.
