The Patagonia R2 fleece has been designed as a middle layer for cold weather. Provides exceptional warmth, breathability and fast drying in a wide range of conditions. The body of the jacket is made of Polartec Thermal Pro fabric, which is exceptionally warm and directionally woven, super light, quickly absorbed, compressible, elastic and soft. The lightweight R1 panels, with durable HeiQ Fresh odour control, are positioned along the underside of the arms and to the sides of the body to improve fit, mobility and comfort range. The lower arms use a cosy R2 fabric and the inner neck is covered by a soft lining layer. Other details are the Sonic / Stitch construction on all zips to reduce volume, raglan seams improve mobility and comfort, thin zips close external pockets (a pocket on the left side of the chest and two hand warmers).

The Patagonia R2 fleece holds the Fair Trade Certificate, which is committed to helping clothes makers get closer to a living wage. For each piece of certified fair trade clothing, they pay a premium that workers can use to improve their communities and better their standard of living. The workers decide how to use the money. They can choose to build a school or health centre, create a scholarship or take it as a bonus. In addition, its clothing has followed the necessary standards with respect to the environment to obtain the bluesign certificate.

Polartec Thermal Pro fabrics offer excellent insulation and warmth without adding weight. The interior can be made of fur, long fibre or fleece to create an air pocket that holds body heat. The Hardface exterior is also highly resistant and repels water.

- Polartec Power Grid
Polartec Power Grid fabrics are designed to keep skin dry with a knitted bi-component construction that uses different yarns on either side of the fabric. This creates two different surfaces: one which allows moisture to be removed from your skin and the other that promotes quick drying. These fabrics weigh less, take up less space and provide more insulation and breathability than most other materials in the same class.

- HeiQ Fresh
HeiQ Fresh uses the natural antimicrobial properties of silver ions to keep clothes free of odours. It is made from recycled silver salt, whose ions are naturally present in the environment and can be found in drinking water, salt water and soil, which effectively inhibits the metabolism of bacteria by processing odourless sweat into body odour.
