Patagonia is not just any company. It designs and manufactures the best products for climbing, surfing, fishing, skiing, running... and for everyday life, but they are in this business for more than just turning a profit. It all starts by analysing the products manufactured by the brand, its operations, the supply chain and Patagonia as a brand itself, while at the same time it takes steps to reduce the waste produced by the manufacturing chain, the carbon footprint and the chemicals used.

Patagonia was born in California in 1973, its founder, Yvon Chouinard soon realised the need for a more durable and weather-resistant clothing for going climbing. He has always been guided by a very transparent philosophy: "Any clothing we make must be durable, functional and as versatile as possible. It must also be lightweight, flexible, comfortable and easy to maintain. And all this with a minimum use of natural resources."

Since 1985 he has donated more than 100 million dollars to non-profit organisations fighting to protect the planet through 1% For The Planet. In 1993 it began to manufacture products with recycled polyester (the first outdoor manufacturer). Today, almost 70% of the materials used are recycled (by volume), and is the brand that has the most products manufactured with the Fair Trade certificate.
