The Salewa Ortles AWP Jacket is an essential medium weight jacket for mountaineering, cross-country skiing and ice climbing activities. Developed in collaboration with the best athletes and mountain guide organizations in the Alps, it is designed to offer professional level isolation and functionality as a warm and protective layer both intermediate and external. The main body has a windproof and waterproof ripstop nylon exterior. On the shoulders and bass, we use 2L Powertex to offer greater waterproofness and resistance. Inside, the TirolWool Celliant hybrid technology insulating padding offers the perfect balance between insulating performance and breathability. We use a 100 gram filling. TirolWool Celliant combines the natural advantages of the high lanolin content of Tirol's alpine sheep wool with the cutting-edge thermoregulatory technology Celliant. Wool keeps heat even in wet conditions, helps regulate body temperature and prevents the concentration of bad odors.

Celliant is a proprietary blend of heat-reactive minerals melted in a resin that is introduced into the core of recycled polyester fibers. It has the unique ability to recycle the heat given off by the body, transform it into infrared light, store it and return it to the body. This process improves circulation and increases blood flow, maintains insulating performance for longer and speeds recovery. That is, the body retains heat for longer. The Ortles 2 TirolWool Celliant jacket features Salewa Free Motion patterns and a slightly longer sports cut to prevent the bass from rising and being comfortable under the harness during climbing. It can be worn alone as an outer layer or as an intermediate insulating layer under another outer layer. The warm hood with integrated tubes has a zip reinforcement to reduce the volume when you don't wear the helmet. The high neck is integrated in the hood to protect the neck. The bi-directional zipper on the front offers good access when you are insuring. Velcro cuffs on the sleeves prevent wind or snow from entering, and can be worn over winter gloves.
