Technology:
- I-SPEC EV: The increased range of adjustability allows adjustment for riders of different styles, preferences and body styles to achieve the optimal position. Ergonomic design, faster access to the handlebar and smooth operation enhance rider comfort and concentration.
- Servo Wave Action: When a Servo Wave brake lever is pulled, the initial pad travel is fast, so only a slight movement of the lever is needed to bring the pads into contact with the brake disc. The power multiplier factor then increases rapidly at the 'pad/disc' contact point, so the lever travel is used to apply more braking power with greater control.
- Ice-Technologies: Overheating, which can occur in the disc and pad when braking on long descents, has a negative impact on braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice-Technologies disc and pad cooling technology for consistent performance. The coated disc blade, with a 3-layer sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminium and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance. A radiation fin has also been adopted for the tablet. In addition, the coated disc blade and radiator fin ensure longer pad life, less noise, less overheating and light weight.
- 4 Piston: The dual-diameter, opposed-piston disc brake system features different sized pistons at the front and rear. The system adopts a power transfer system in which the disc brake is pressed by the smaller size piston at the disc brake inlet and also by the larger and more powerful piston at the rear. This prevents the oscillating movement of the disc brake and considerably reduces noise.
