Smith Girls MIPS systemproducts
Based in Sun Valley, Idaho, Smith Optics Inc. was founded in 1965 with the introduction of the first goggles with a sealed thermal lens and breathable foam. This invention revolutionised the powder skiing experience and made Smith Optics Inc. a worldwide brand name in the following years. In the early days, its founder, Dr. Bob Smith, a dentist by profession, made screens by hand using dental tools, foam and glue. Before he struck a deal to manufacture screens in the late 1960s, Smith built the first prototypes among friends around the kitchen table. With its expertise in display manufacturing, Smith Optics Inc. has been setting the standard in the manufacture of high performance displays, eyewear and helmets. In sunglasses, Smith Optics Inc. is well known for its Slider and PivLock series sunglasses, the most innovative interchangeable lens sunglasses available, and more recently for ChromaPop lenses that offer unprecedented polarisation, clarity and colour enhancement. In addition to high-end eyewear, Smith Optics Inc. has also developed a line of cycling and ski helmets, providing protection while setting industry standards for style, functionality and fit. Today, Smith Optics Inc. has become synonymous with high quality, durable and innovative products in the goggles, sunglasses and helmets market. Smith products are sold in more than 50 countries around the world through specialist retailers. To better meet the demands of outdoor enthusiasts around the world, Smith Optics Inc. has operations in several countries. The headquarters are still located in Ketchum, Idaho, with a European headquarters located in Padua, Italy and the Canadian headquarters in Quebec. The production plant and warehouse are located in Clearfield, Utah.
