The AKU Montera Low GORE-TEX shoes are lightweight and versatile for use on easy or medium difficulty terrain. The part of the ankle is made of elastic material that guarantees excellent comfort in the fit and during walking. The asymmetric construction of the sole with the exclusive technology AKU Elica guarantees an excellent distribution of the load on the plantar surface and improves the tread mechanism. The Michelin Pulsar outsole, inspired by mountain bike tires, offers a high degree of grip and comfort in the progression.

Typical AKU Quality

Most of the reviews of this shoe are accurate in my opinion. This shoe is a bit warm on hot days, as I expected it to be since it's almost all suede with no mesh. The sole is also firm, at least on cement. I bought these as everyday shoes for all seasons. The AKU Tengu Low, which I also own, is much better for hiking. The Montera Low is a good looking shoe and well made. These are replacing a pair of AKU Aribas that I bought over 15 years ago which I've worn as everyday shoes also. I've worn through the soles to the midsoles. I've never had a pair of shoes last that long. AKU's are well worth the money and are in my opinion works of art.

Not used yet - but....

Only tried on to check size in the house, but seem to be very comfortable, well made and good quality. I had not heard of this brand before, but I am looking forward to using them 'for real'.
