The Sportful story is full of innovation and champions. The story began in 1946, when the Cremonese family opened a knitting factory called Manifattura Valcismon. Over the years, the production was evolving towards the manufacture of high quality underwear, initially for the Italian market and then for the United States. The true turning point came in 1972, when Dr. Giordano Cremona, who had taken control of his parents' business, wanted to participate in the newly created cross-country skiing race, but he did not have adequate clothing. He used the family business to produce the necessary clothing and what started as a personal need became an unprecedented success. This was the beginning of the Sportful brand.
In 1985, seeing the great demand for technical cycling clothing and encouraged by the remarkable success of the company in cross-country skiing, Sportful embarked on a new adventure. This shift towards the manufacture of cycling clothing further strengthened the company's reputation in the sportswear industry. In 1998, after having achieved a dominant position in the Italian ski market, the company decided to expand its presence in foreign markets. Sportful is currently the official supplier of the prestigious national team of Finland. As for cycling clothing, Sportful's biggest achievement came in 2002, when the Italian team started wearing Sportful apparel and when Mario Cipollini won the Zolder World Championship shortly after.
Other successes followed this victory, including the Olympic gold Paolo Bettini in Athens, and in 2006 in Salzburg, when the Sportful jersey was once again on the podium, once again victorious, once again the symbol of Italian cycling. They currently, Sportful equip Saxo Bank-Sungard , Alberto Contador's team.
The Saxo Bank jersey has an anatomical fit of medium cut that ensures maximum comfort throughout the day. It is made of Dry Pro microfibre for optimal sweat absorption. It has elastic silicone in the lower part of the waist offers perfect support and the zip is YKK.
The Saxo Bank shorts offer maximum comfort and aerodynamics. They are made of Aero Flow Compress material that facilitates air flow and provides support to the muscles. All seams are flat and are positioned out of the air flow to offer better aerodynamics. The legs are seemless and have a radio pocket in the mesh of the straps. The BodyFit Pro suede offers high performance, as well as excellent properties such as having a soft touch surface that prevents inflammation of the skin thanks to its good breathability and offer excellent resistance to sweat and abrasions.

Super breathability

Having trashed my 1st one hitting a sheep at 25mph in the Pyrenees I had to replace it, as it is so good. Great price from Deporvillage and I still use the damaged one for running in the rain. I wear a 'Large' which gives a close fit at 5' 10", slim build and 66kg.

Excellent value

I personally find the pad in these super comfortable for long days on the bike (6hrs+). The band on the shorts is quite tight but does not cause any discomfort. The material is high quality.
