The North Face Climbing Alpine skiing Emission reductionproducts
The North Face was founded in 1966 with the mission of creating the best mountain material and promoting a global movement of exploration of the world.
In 1966 Doug Tompkins founded The North Face, which was initially a small ski and hiking shop, direct sales and correspondence, in the North Beach area of San Francisco, USA. Two years later, Tompkins opened the first manufacturing workshop in a small space behind the store. During the seventies and eighties, The North Face presented innovations in the field of outdoor equipment, such as reducing the weight of mountain backpacks, or the introduction of Gore Tex membrane in some product lines.
During the 90s and until today, The North Face athletes have climbed the highest and most difficult summits on the planet, such as the Anapurna, the K2 or the first ascent to the Great Sail Peak (Canada).
