The Thule brand was founded in Sweden in 1942. Thule is a premium brand used throughout the world and offers a wide variety of products that, mainly, have been developed to carry equipment in a car, such as roof bars , bike racks and roof racks for water sports or roof racks. There are also other product areas, such as accessories for motor homes, trailers for active life (canoes, boats, etc.), snow chains and luggage. Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Erik Thulin, a true lover of outdoor life, put the Thule name on a pike trap that he designed and began selling it to fishermen in Scandinavia. It did not take long for him to add other handy items to his company's portfolio. The business skyrocketed, proving profitable year after year. In the 60s, the company began to concentrate on commercial activities related to automotive products and soon the first roof bars were born. In the 70s, new categories of products were incorporated, and they began to explore new markets throughout the world such as the USA or Japan. In 2004, the Thule Group acquired the Italian snow chains manufacturer König. Then, a close collaboration gave way to a series of Thule brand snow chains for passenger cars. A year later, in 2005, the motorhome accessory company, Omnistor, was added to the Thule Group portfolio and joined Thule. Thanks to the acquisition of the towing systems company Brink in 2006, Thule Group added another range of products to its portfolio, which gave way to a series of tow bars and bicycle rack solutions. Since 2007, Case Logic has been part of the Thule Group. As a result of the collaboration between Thule and its Carry Solutions commercial area, a range of luggage accessories, handbags and boxes was launched in 2010.
