Trangoworld have made various products using different types of feathers. European Goose down, European duck down, Goose down and Duck down. There are two factors that determine the performance of the down in a garment or sleeping bag. Mix ratio: a rating like 98/2 means that the garment or sleeping bag has 98% down and 2% feather. Down has a higher capacity to store warm air than feather. If the proportion of down in a filling is higher than the proportion of feather, the insulation will be better. Fillpower: A cubic inch is a unit used to measure the expansion and compression capacity of down. Cubic inches come from the words 'cubic inches'. The higher the cubic inches the better the expansion capacity of the down. The result is a product with a better capacity for insulation.
