Bicycle Tyres
Do you want to know more about bike tyres?
Bicycle tyres are fixed to the rim to complete the assembly of the wheels. The tyres are usually made of rubber and there are a variety of shapes and types. You can find smooth tyres, tyres with relief, thick and thin tyres and even ones for different climatic conditions.
Tyres have other functions besides achieving good rotation. One of these functions is to help the suspension of the bicycle, in addition to achieving a better balance and improving rotation. Depending on the relief they have, they are more suitable for different terrains, for example, mountain bike wheels are thick and have a very large relief, to get better grip on dusty surfaces and avoid falls. On the other hand, road bicycle wheels are completely smooth and thin, since they are ridden on tarmac and seek speed.
Bike tyres are a strong source of friction that consume a lot of energy on the part of the cyclist, so depending on the terrain it is better to have the minimum contact with the ground. There are three types of tyres. The first ones are clincher tyres, which have an air chamber that has to be inflated and are the most used. We can also find tubular tyres, which are used a lot in the mountains to avoid punctures in the in the air chamber and tubeless ones that do not require air.
