Völkl Blaze 86 Skis Coral Red

The Völkl Blaze 86 skis are alpine skis that are classified as freeride skis recommended for skiers with an intermediate/advanced ski level. They are constructed with a continuous wood core from tip to tail. This not only saves weight and makes the ski more lively, but also eliminates the need for plastic inserts, a small but positive environmental aspect. In adverse conditions of scattered snow, the 86 also has suspension elements installed in the scraper and tail. The elastic rubber material on the tip and tail of the skis acts as a bumper and provides greater resistance to disturbances and better buoyancy.

Basically, the Blaze series is designed for fast and short turns. However, the three different radii, especially in combination with the continuous multilayer hybrid wood core, are suitable for almost every skiing style and every type of use. The Blaze 86 is the ski to recommend for all mountain skiers who want to go off-piste in a sporty way, classic freeriders or backcountry skiers who accept to carry 100g more weight in exchange for noticeable improvements in handling characteristics.

Features:
- Elastic TPU inserts on the edges of the spatula and tail act as a buffer in windblown or trampled snow conditions. Its elasticity absorbs shocks, ensuring greater stability and unhindered gliding.
- Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore: The ultra-lightweight multi-layer hybrid wood core is a highly complex core used in the Blaze. Light and very stable poplar and beech wood, which have already been individually weighed and selected for their weight before gluing, are incorporated into this wood core. In Tip to Tail construction, the wood goes all the way to the tip of the spatula and tail, giving them the sophisticated combination of good stability and light weight. In the centre of the core, a CNC milled Isocore zone contributes to optimum vibrancy and dynamic performance. This design combines three different bending radii, smoothly connected to each other along the entire length of the ski. The behaviour in the curves is regulated by the central radius, based on the angle of the edge. This ensures fluidity at high speeds and a pronounced resistance of the spatula in difficult snow conditions, especially off-piste.
