The Zipp 303 Firecrest Edition Force 12x142mm thru axle rear wheel is developed to win the spring classics for road pros, the current generation 303 Firecrest is the optimal companion for day-to-day use in semi-perfect conditions, bad roads and adverse elements. In such circumstances, the current 303 is even more efficient and faster than its predecessor. With an inside rim width of 25 millimetres, which is extreme for racing bikes, the Americans are breaking new ground. As discovered at Zipp's in-house development centre "The Nest", 28 millimetre wide tubeless road tyres with low air pressure roll significantly better than comparable 25 millimetre tyres. Especially on bad roads, wide all-round tyres can demonstrate their advantages in terms of rolling resistance and comfort. Thanks to their large inner width, the rims not only offer the wider tyres optimum support at low air pressures, but also integrate the tyres aerodynamically extremely efficiently into the rim profile. In addition, the hookless design creates an almost seamless transition between the tyre and the rim sidewalls.
